Monday 29th March 2021 marked the end of Lockdown 3.0 so the following day we took advantage of the lifting of the Stay At Home restrictions and headed to Hartington.
We headed out of Hartington and walked across the fields in the direction of Wolfscote Dale. In doing so we passed through these woods
As we started to walk down Wolfscote we passed the caves above
The route along Wolfscote Dale was relatively quite compared with the crowds we thought may be doing the same and getting out for the first time in months
As we continue down Wolfscote Dale we passed this waterfall on the River Dove
After a couple of miles or so we turned left into Biggin Dale. The bottom stretch of this dale is very wet with an unavoidable stream running down it.
In the upper part of Biggin Dale the stream can be avoided
After leaving Biggin Dale we turn onto a bridal way which after about a mile takes us on to the road back into Hartington.
It was great to get back in the Peak District for a thoroughly enjoyable 6 mile walk. All that was missing was a pint at the end of it. Shame the pubs were still unable to open.
